After all, the original 2020 “hey mamas” lesbian thirst trap will forever be seared into our collective psyche, for better or for worse. As soon as the music began, the crowd chugged their drinks, looked to their friends in approval, and opened up the pit just as they were told.
Sadly, like the once-official term “Afro-American”, I doubt it will ever catch on sufficiently to generate the sufficient rhetorical heat.
But, in the meantime, if you happen to be a self-described gay, lesbian, or homosexual, please be advised that you are now officially a) outdated and b) racist.

Brat Summer was magical, wasn’t it? TikTok taught us how to be very demure and mindful, let us hold space, gave us salacious story times, platformed creators that raised millions of dollars for gender-affirming care, and gave many queer and trans folks a sense of pride, visibility and reprieve from an increasingly hostile country.
In honor of TikTok’s potentially imminent departure, we’ve compiled a list of notable moments over the years that we won’t be able to forget, even if the app goes dark.
The other stages were also just as lively with a slightly different vibe about them. What made it so special on TikTok were the fancams, edits of photos and videos with glittery effects set to glorious tunes. Or was there some real chemistry there?
