Why LGBTQ+ Activism and History Matter
Activism has always driven LGBTQ+ progress, from fighting for equality to creating safe spaces. Our archive complements the rest of the site by offering context and inspiration for LGBTQ+ individuals as they explore resources like health services, safe spaces, and nightlife options.
These are aspects that have deep roots in the history of our queer community.
Lavender Zines was started after we began collecting vintage queer magazines and realized that this information needed to be more publicly accessible. - Issue 49- Sale price

I appreciate your continued support along this journey — and excited to announce that Blueboy® celebrates its 50th ANNIVERSARY with a golden commemorative issue available DECEMBER 2025.
A portion of the proceeds benefits The Blueboy® Archives & Cultural Arts Foundation — an LGBTQ+ 501 (c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit organization committed to the preservation and promotion of Blueboy® archives for historical, educational, and research purposes.
The Blueboy® GOLDEN 50th ANNIVERSARY COMMEMORATIVE ISSUE features editorials, artwork, fashion layouts, short stories, interviews, vintage Blueboy® archival content, and a male nude pictorial — reflecting upon our rich legacy and resonating the 'golden era' of gay life during the 1970s.
Each Blueboy® GOLDEN 50th ANNIVERSARY COMMEMORATIVE ISSUE is a numbered copy in a limited edition of 2,025 copies.
Online versions of the magazine will not be available. We were captivated with the history and stories of the different photographers and models after collecting our very first Golden Boys magazine.
We believe in making vintage queer art and photography open and accessible to all.
We want to not only preserve queer history, but honor the sacrifices of our queer ancestors while acknowledging the good and bad sides of our history.
We believe that Trans lives matter, Black lives matter, and in defunding the police. Revisiting this history inspires resilience and motivates us to keep pushing for change.
Tying History to Everyday Life
At Batalanto, we believe that understanding the past is key to navigating the present.
Once this edition is sold out, we will place the original work copy into the BACAF archives. The stories in our archive honor those who paved the way, reminding us of the challenges they faced and the freedoms we enjoy today.
the national magazine about men
2025 marks the 50th Anniversary of Blueboy® — the first nationally and internationally distributed gay men's magazine!
Due to issues stemming from the pandemic, our relaunch was delayed several times as a result of factors that were outside of our control.
We made this decision in order to evoke the nostalgic thrill of what it was once like going to the newsstand and purchasing the the latest copy.
All customers who have active pre-orders will receive a beautiful copy of the Blueboy® GOLDEN 50th ANNIVERSARY COMMEMORATIVE ISSUE.
Your order of our iconic magazine serves as a commitment to supporting the ongoing work of Blueboy® Archives & Cultural Arts Foundation.
Love and Appreciation,
Miss Tiger

Lavender Zines is a publicly accessible archive of queer magazines and ephemera from the 1960's.
Our collection has only grown since.
Having free access to this type of content is just the first of many steps we have planned to contribute.
