An entrepreneur at heart, he has owned several small businesses across diverse industries, from animal care to automotive and specialty foods.

Since joining Tree House, Mike has overseen the expansion of the Veterinary Wellness Center (VWC) and Resident Clinic, doubling the organization’s internal and community patient capacity.

Mike lives in Caledonia, Wisconsin with his wife, son, and four spirited felines.

Currently, she is Co-Chair of the Chicagoland Humane Coalition and a board member of the Illinois Animal Welfare Federation.

Jamie is passionate about strategic program planning, collaborative leadership, and creating equitable access to care across diverse communities.

When he’s not advocating for tech equity in the nonprofit space, Brian is photographing Chicago’s neighborhoods or impressing with his knowledge of Knight Rider.

Michael Bregantini

Director of Veterinary Services

Michael Bregantini joined Tree House Humane Society in March 2024 with over 30 years of veterinary industry experience.

She then earned her first career start in the next game, going 0-for-4 but recorded three putouts and six assists without an error in the infield.

Gay saw limited action again until making mid-week starts against South Dakota and South Dakota State in mid-March. Gay picked up her first career hit - a double- in a pinch-hitting role against North Dakota.

Outside of work, she enjoys building Legos, playing board games, nurturing her plant collection, and spending time with her two dogs, Chip and Guppy.

Brian Rivera

Director, Technology & Administration

Brian Rivera is a technologist and nonprofit strategist with over 15 years of experience helping mission-driven organizations use smart, intentional IT to do more good.

She was also perfect defensively in 25 chances against ranked foes.

Before Nebraska
Gay became the sixth Beatrice native to join the Husker program after starring for Beatrice High School. Defensively, Gay posted a .943 fielding percentage, but in the Big 12 season, Gay earned nine starts at third base and was perfect in 44 chances.

Gay was hit by a pitch in the first plate appearance of her career on the first day of the season, but she didn’t earn her first official at bat until a month later.

She was error-free in only two chances.

Freshman Season [2009]
Gay saw the most action of any of the Husker freshman position players in 2009, as she appeared in 33 games and earned 15 starts. She scored her first run as a pinch-runner against UNLV in the second weekend of the season. The RBI highlighted Gay’s success in her rookie year against ranked teams, as she hit .313 (5-for-16) with a pair of doubles, four runs scored and an RBI against top-25 opponents.

Formerly, he led as Surgical Director and Regional Director in both private and corporate veterinary settings and served as co-chair on the Wisconsin Veterinary Examining Board. She was a first-team infielder on the Lincoln Journal Star’s Super-State team and on the Omaha World-Herald’s All-Nebraska team, one of four Husker sophomores named to both teams.

Gay helped lead Beatrice to a runner-up finish at the state tournament, where the Lady Orange lost to four-time state champion Elkhorn, led by fellow Husker sophomores Ashley Hagemann and Nikki Haget. As Senior Manager at All Chicago, he led the homeless services help desk system, strengthening the tech backbone for a citywide housing network.

Brian has presented on data standards, IT management, and AI for nonprofits at Humane World for Animals, the Illinois Animal Welfare Federation, and the National Community Tax Coalition.

After appearing in 33 games and starting 15 contests at third base as a freshman, Gay made only two starts and 22 appearances in her sophomore campaign. She recorded three doubles and one home run to post a .314 slugging percentage.

Sophomore Season [2010]
A deep and talented Husker infield equaled less playing time for Jamie Gay in 2010.

She was also a standout on the tennis court, as she went 19-1 with her lone loss coming in the state finals of the Class B No. 1 doubles tournament. She set Beatrice records for average, hits and doubles and ranked second in Class B in hits and doubles, fifth in average and sixth in RBIs.
