And while he acknowledged that he was previously monogamous, Ne-Yo emphasized how much more "true" he felt being with multiple women.

Ne-Yo—who finalized his divorce from ex-wifeCrystal Renay in 2023 following seven years of marriage—first sparked rumors he was in a polyamorous relationship in July of that year, when he was spotted holding hands with Arielle and Bella on a beach in Los Angeles.

"As long as my happy ain’t messing with anybody else’s happy, I’m in the right place,” he shared. "It’s not for me."

And the "Because of You" singer—who is dad to three kids with Crystal, as well as four kids from past relationships—insisted that his preference wasn't a criticism of people who prefer monogamous relationships.

Their joint caption read: “US vs.

While some fans applauded Ne-Yo for living his truth, others had questions, leaving comments beneath their photos.

“Wait so you’re the 4th?” one person asked as another wrote, “There’s 4 wives.” A third person commented, “I know he has other gfs but idk this gives like the one he should be with the chemistry is through the roof,” as a fourth said, “Ya’ll look the f**k good together!”

The 45-year-old also took to his own Instagram to double down that he doesn’t care for anyone’s approval of his lifestyle choices.

In an IG Story, Ne-Yo wrote, “Them: ‘NEYO WE DON’T APPROVE OF YOUR POLY RELATIONSHIP!!'” over a picture of him wearing a T-shirt that reads “FUN FACT: I DON’T CARE.”

Bri reposted his story with the comment, “He said what he said.”

Ne-Yo first confirmed his polyamorous lifestyle in an interview on Lemon Drop with Karleen Roy.

There, he candidly shared his revelation that monogamy wasn’t for him and that his 2022 divorce from Crystal Renay Williams allowed him to live his truth.

Although the performer has posted separate intimate photos with the “So Sick” singer on her Instagram before, it’s her first public photo with the other ladies—sparking speculation that they are all now a quintet.

The revelation comes after Ne-Yo flicked it up on a yacht last week alongside three of his partners who go by the Instagram handles: Daddys_Pretty_Baby__, Phoneixx__feather, and ArielleHill.

He admitted that for years, he was “lying and trying to be somebody I wasn’t” and that embracing polyamory has been a “weight lifted off [his] shoulders.”

Despite the controversy, one of Ne-Yo’s partners made it clear that their relationship isn’t just about romance.

I’m not that no more.”

Ne-Yo isn't the only person to defend his polygamous romance, either.

“I am not s--tting on marriage," he explained. "I’m not s--tting on anyone who has figured out how to make that thing work for them. Under the aforementioned yacht photo, she wrote, “Yes we’re in the public eye and we know people are gonna voice their opinion that’s what’s expected but y’all need to understand over here it’s a solid foundation.

Phoenixx has also spoken out on why their situation works for them.

The "Miss Independent" singer—real name Shaffer Chimere Smith—spoke out after facing backlash for being in a polygamous relationship with influencer Arielle Hill and two Only Fans models who go by Phoenixx Feather and Bella on social media.

“Society tells you you’re supposed to be with one person.

In a Feb. 20 Instagram Story, Ne-Yo mocked naysayers of his romance by writing, "Them: 'NEYO WE DON'T APPROVE OF YOUR POLY RELATIONSHIP.'"

Responding to the haters, the "So Sick" singer paired the comment with a selfie of him wearing a black-and-white shirt that read, "Fun fact: I don't care."

To top off his clapback, the 45-year-old flashed a wide grin for the camera, proving he's unbothered by the negativity.
